This jebena is not only decorative and cultural to Ethiopia, but is functional as well. The coffee is boiled directly in the water within the clay jebena; this pot can be used on hot surfaces such as open range stovetops, gas fire stovetops, charcoal stoves, electric heating pad stoves, ceramic (on medium-high heat)and coiled electric stovetops.
The coffee boiled in the clay jebena is extremely rich, smooth, and strong. It is not comparable to machine made coffee! Try drinking coffee the original way, which is the Ethiopian way.
